What You’re Registering For
JumpStart Summer 2026 is a two-day in-person science program at the Oxbow Discovery Campus, located at 530 3rd St, Napa for curious children ages 3–7.
Each registration includes participation for one child and one parent or guardian.
Each session is approximately 2 hours long and built around a series of short, hands-on activities designed to keep young children engaged, moving, exploring, and asking questions.
Each day includes:
Hands-on science activities
Guided small-group exploration
Real scientific tools and specimens
Movement breaks and snack time
All materials provided
Visits and demonstrations from real scientists and professionals
Day 1 focuses on winemaking and viticulture. Children explore grape growing, vineyard balance, smell and taste science, grape juice experiments, pruning and vine activities, and hands-on projects inspired by real vineyard and winery work.
Day 2 focuses on insects and the tiny creatures that help shape our world. Children investigate insect anatomy, habitats, pollinators, camouflage, and observation through interactive games, crafts, real specimens, and microscopes.
Activities are age-appropriate, highly interactive, and designed around the scientific process: observing, asking questions, testing ideas, and sharing discoveries.
No prior science experience is required. Just curiosity!
